Water for the Weary

Throughout the war in Ukraine, I have watched women quietly care for the people around them. They cook, feed people, open their homes. They care for the children, the edlerly, neighbors and strangers. They see what is needed, and they do what they can. There is another kind of strength in carrying on - in continuing to care for others when your own life has been turned upside down. The woman in this painting represents those women. Like a shepherd caring fro his flock, she gives what she has to those who depend on her. It is that kind of strength that I want to depict.
