The Morning After

"The Morning After" by Nicole Daniels is a unique, moving painting that provides a poignant glimpse into the aftermath of that fateful night in Gethsemane. The night Christ suffered was a place of mourning, communion, grief, connection, love, and perfect understanding.

The painting shows an empty garden with a red cloth draped over the nearest olive tree, imagining the Savior left it there when He was taken. Nicole Daniels said, "The Savior bled from every pore and bore the world's grief in that garden. I aimed to depict the place where He knelt and sought solace under the olive tree's protection."
