Story Behind the Art
Story Behind the Art
The location for this painting is near St Anthony Idaho, just barely upstream from the Fun Farm bridge over the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. It was taken while on a BYUI Landscape painting class photo research trip around the Snake, and Teton River areas near St Anthony and Rexburg. It was later started in class as a demo but it spent several subsequent years in my studio being reworked before I could get it where I wanted it to be.
About the Artist
About the Artist
Leon Parson moved to southeast Idaho with his family in 1954 when his father, Oliver Parson, was invited to start the art program at then, Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho. As a young boy he developed a deep love and insight for wildlife, the outdoors, and all that nature offers.
