Reason For Being

Inspired by the eternal parable of the Good Samaritan told by the Saviour, this work explores its enduring significance. The story holds myriad applications for our lives and the Church, yet this piece emphasizes a core spiritual truth: recognizing our own vulnerability in the figure of the wounded traveler, and seeing the compassionate Samaritan as a symbol of Jesus Christ, our ultimate Healer and Rescuer.

I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in Ukraine. I was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1993 when it first started in my country. My journey as an artist began during my teenage years, but I put it aside to focus on my academic pursuits. In 2020, I reignited my passion for creating, returning to the affection I had once set aside. 

In my art, I strive to find greatness in the simple things and highlight the often-overlooked beauty in the world around us. I aim to explore meaningful moments, often incorporating hidden details that reflect truth and invite deeper reflection. I firmly believe in the transformative power of art—not just as a visual medium, but as a way to reach into our homes and connect profoundly with our spirits.
