Poplar Springs

This piece was created during a “free time” BYUI Landscape painting class, taught by my friend and colleague Jerry Griffin. The location is a pasture just north of Rexburg. The Pond was actually a bit off to the left but with “a little brush and some paint” I was successfully able to dig it up and put it in a better spot.

Leon Parson moved to southeast Idaho with his family in 1954 when his father, Oliver Parson, was invited to start the art program at then, Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho. As a young boy he developed a deep love and insight for wildlife, the outdoors, and all that nature offers.
