This painting was done from a candid black and white photo taken over 100 years ago of a Native American mother carrying her little child or ||Papoose|| on her back. Mothers from many tribes kept their little ones close by bundling them up on their backs as they went about their work. It is apparent how this mother shares a special bond of love with her child.
