In The Care of The Shepherd

While in Turkey for business back in 2021, we went to see a local sheep farm, and that's where I met Imre. He was tending his sheep. Imre's eyes held the warmth of the Turkish sun.

He ran a sheep farm - a life etched onto his face in wrinkles and a quiet strength. Visiting his farm, I saw more than just an owner. He knew each sheep and their needs. He moved among them with a calm assurance and protection. There was a simple dignity in his work, a deep respect in the way he cared for his flock. It was clear: these sheep weren't just livestock; they were in the care of a true shepherd.

I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in Ukraine. I was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1993 when it first started in my country. My journey as an artist began during my teenage years, but I put it aside to focus on my academic pursuits. In 2020, I reignited my passion for creating, returning to the affection I had once set aside. 

In my art, I strive to find greatness in the simple things and highlight the often-overlooked beauty in the world around us. I aim to explore meaningful moments, often incorporating hidden details that reflect truth and invite deeper reflection. I firmly believe in the transformative power of art—not just as a visual medium, but as a way to reach into our homes and connect profoundly with our spirits.
