As we created this piece, we found ourselves deeply moved by the thought of Jesus walking that long, lonely road. The image of Him, robed in purple and crowned with thorns, captures a moment of unimaginable sacrifice and love—a moment that changed everything for each of us.

This painting was inspired by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland’s words:
"Because Jesus walked such a long, lonely path utterly alone, we do not have to do so… Trumpeted from the summit of Calvary is the truth that we will never be left alone nor unaided, even if sometimes we may feel that we are."

For us, this quote speaks to the heart of why we wanted to create this piece. We wanted to show the Savior’s quiet strength and the deep, personal love He has for each of us. As you look at this painting, we hope you feel His presence and remember that because of His solitary journey, none of us ever have to walk alone.
