He Who Paints the Sunsets

I’ve been working on this painting concept for years and finally was able to bring it to life. If you’ve been here for a while you know I am obsessed with making paintings of the Savior creating. I have painted Him gardening, doing pottery, painting an oil painting, placing stars in the night sky, doing Kintsugi, and more. I love to call Him the master artist, the great creator. I love to imagine Him arranging flowers on the earth, moulding beautiful mountains out of the ground, and painting the sky. Something about this imagery just makes Him feel so real to me. It makes the earth feel so sacred. It helps me to remember that we have the privilege of living among His beautiful creations, and that everything I see and touch and hear is a sign of His power and His love. There are few times I am more in awe of the universe and God than when I am staring up at the sky. I look up and know that I cannot be alone in this Universe. I know that He is the artist behind it all. I am reminded of Psalm 19:1 which says, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.” I hope when you see this painting you are reminded of this beautiful earth that He created for you. I hope it inspires you to look for and see Him in all of the beauty around you. I hope it makes you feel so loved. He loves you so much that He surrounds you in sunsets and mountains and wildflowers and sunrises and beaches and waterfalls and autumn leaves and pastures and animals and rain storms. What a beautiful and great love it is!!
