Story Behind the Art

Hebrews 1:3: "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power".

Jesus leads us on the path back to our Heavenly Father, bringing us from the darkness back into the light of God's presence. This image is meant to show Christ inviting us then leading us without cohesion. A halo, a symbol of divine crowning glory, encircles his head, a luminous aureole that emphasizes his sacred nature.

The clouds suggest the gentle and comforting nature of the divine. but also show that way the path and light is obscured without Christ to guide us. This painting offers a powerful and evocative portrayal of Jesus Christ, inviting viewers to contemplate the divine and its relationship to humanity.

Reproduced from the artist's Digital Painting. Created 2024.

About the Artist

Layne Haacke, an artist residing in the heart of the Ozarks in Missouri, is a laid-back lefty who can't resist doodling with his pencil.
