Coronation ll

"Coronation II" is a depiction of Christ with the crown of thorns being placed upon his head by the roman soldiers. In this artwork, Christ is depicted with his chin held high. This choice in posing demonstrates how even while bearing the most painful form of tortuous murder in the ancient world, Christ, as our sovereign Lord, has not been overcome by those who oppose him, but rather is actively submitting himself to these abuses as a means for expiating the sins of the world.
