By His Grace

Faith is not something we create - it is something we receive. Just as a seed does not plant itself, we cannot come to Christ unless He first draws us, yet He does not withhold this grace from anyone. Faith is a gift, but it is one we can ask for, receive, and cultivate. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8). In By His Grace, I depict the resurrected Christ planting seeds-His hands still bearing the scars of the cross, covered in the dirt of the earth. This is our God: not distant, but willing to meet us in the dust, planting new life where there was none. Like the father of the boy in Mark 9:24, we too can pray, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief," trusting that even in our doubt, He will give us the grace to believe more fully.
