Behold

This is a depiction of the annunciation to the shepherds on the night of Christ''s birth. The older shepherd is reflecting on responsibilities and difficulties in life. Distracted by these thoughts, he is unaware of the magnificent heavenly manifestation unfolding before him. The young shepherd boy''s mind is not encumbered by life, and recognizes the event.
