The painting was inspired by my memories of visiting Gethsemane in Jerusalem. The olive trees there have witnessed many tragic and joyful events. These ancient trees endure dramatic lives, struggling for survival against extreme temperatures, winds, and dry soil. Yet, they persevere and produce fruit that plays a vital role in religious ordinances and traditions.
